![]() I'd probably be pretty scared, actually, and oh boy do I love him so much! I don't want to live in fear of him if he has turned aggressive. I don't know how to deal with an aggressive snake. I've never had a snake strike me (I'm one of the lucky ones, I know) not ever (I've only kept in total 5 snakes, though so I'm not like, super experienced in the trade), so I don't exactly know how to tell if he'd strike me? Is there a certain position I should watch out for? I got some cranky vibes (I wasn't planning on handling him, just moving his hide) and now I'm worried when I DO go to handle him, he might be aggressive. Now when I went to move his hide around, just touching his side made him tense up (I expected this, obviously he's terrified of another, yet again, new transitional period in his life) and he seemed to be a bit defensive. 4 months ago Cosmo was the sweetest snake you'd ever meet. Okay- I'm also worried his personality might've changed. I don't him to have trouble digesting something now too big. small rats? I know the 'width' rule, and he took the small rat willingly last time and seems fine, but if feeding him mice would be better I'd be up for getting a stock of some. But maybe I'm just remembering him wrong, and he was just this tiny in the first place?Īlso, since he's now pretty darn skinny after not eating for 4 months, do I feed him adult mice vs. It seems like he shrunk, if that's even possible. But now that he's so tiny, should I feed him every 5 days? 4 days? 6 days? Or still keep-up a weekly feeding schedule? I'm not kidding guys, he's really tiny. I gave him a frozen small rat moments after putting him back in the enclosure, and after some difficulty finding it, he took it quickly and happily (hooray!), as well as the second I put that water bowl down he jumped on it and drank for like, 20 minutes (also hooray!), but now I'm curious- for those who have had something similar happen, did you feed your snake more often? I used to feed him small rats every week. He's a nearly 3-year-old juvenile but looks so underfed. I spent 4 months slaving my ass around looking for you, and you just casually hiss back into my life?Īnyways I shed tears of joy and drove to the closest pet supply store to get his cage up-n-runnin again. Low and behold, Cosmo was just slithering around my nightstand. On Wednesday I took a nap smack in the middle of the day (as per usual), and I woke-up instantly knowing something was off. I was very, very worried about his health (and if I'd ever get to see him again!) I tried everything to find him- searched the whole house up and down, did the flour on the floor thing, left him water and mice in places I thought he might be, every trick in the book. 4 months ago he escaped from his enclosure. He's my most favorite thing in the world.
